The fight for life is in its infancy with a long path forward to victory. While it is cause for great sorrow and unceasing anguish in all our hearts, the sad reality is there is no hope of banning abortion in all 50 states in the near future.
Therefore in pro-abortion states, we must advocate for narrow restrictions, all of which will expose the evil of abortion even in concession.
The most important of these bills are those seeking to ban abortion as a tool for eugenics. All abortions are vile (with the exception of those necessary to save the life of the mother), but some are more vile than others. Few evils are greater than that of eugenics. Indeed, Nazi Germany was the greatest perpetrator of eugenics in history, taking the depraved ideology to its logical end with the forcible extermination of human beings deemed unfit.
Shamefully, the United States alongside much of the West also embraced the practice. Only the atrocities committed by the Nazis were powerful enough to shake the western conscience and end our infatuation with it. Yet we have not entirely stopped its practice. Abortion remains a tool for eugenics in many western nations, including America.
Abortion is used every day to murder those deemed inferior or burdensome. Those with Down syndrome are the primary victims of modern eugenics.
In Iceland, nearly 100% of babies diagnosed with Down syndrome are aborted. Geneticist Kari Stefansson claims, “We [Icelanders] have basically eradicated, almost, Down syndrome from our society.” In Denmark, 98% of babies diagnosed with Down syndrome are aborted; in France, 78%; and in the United States, a heartbreaking 67% are aborted.
This is genocide. We are purposefully murdering those we think inferior; those who we think impose upon us too great a burden. Their deaths are justified by making the lives of those we consider “normal” a little easier. It is but another fruit of the poisonous tree of Social Darwinism; an atrocity akin to the Holocaust.
Just as the gas chambers were meant to secure the purity of the master race, abortion clinics attempt to rid us of genetic impurity. As the Jews were singled for extermination, so too have we singled out Down syndrome children for extermination.
For example, in England, Wales, and Scotland, abortion is allowed until the 24th week of pregnancy. However, abortion “can be allowed up until birth if there’s ‘a substantial risk that if the child were born it would suffer from physical or mental abnormalities as to be seriously handicapped.’”
Our message to those with Down syndrome and other disabilities is clear: We believe humanity will be better off if they weren’t a part of it.
This was the very belief that caused eugenicists to embrace abortion in the first place. Justice Clarence Thomas discussed the history of the abominable union between abortion and eugenics in his concurrence in Box v. Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky. An eugenicist publication said in 1933, “[W]e are being increasingly compelled to consider legalized abortion as well as birth control and sterilization as a possible means of influencing the fitness and happiness and quality of the race.” Former Planned Parenthood president Alan Guttmacher also advocated for abortion as a tool for eugenics.
We cannot yet end this genocide, but we can make Americans see that it is happening, and force the advocates of America’s grave sin to defend it. Push for laws forbidding abortion on the basis of diagnosed disabilities, and force the enemies of life to admit that they believe they ought to be able to murder the so-called inferior members of society.
Make them deny the humanity of the disabled. Expose their support of eugenics; expose the depths of their depravity. Let them proclaim to the world their evil, and let all the world see their hateful ideology for what it is.
Abortion by its nature is a hidden genocide. There are no train tracks or camps. It is the duty of all who love righteousness to make the evil known, and force the evildoers to expose who they really are. Then, God-willing, the American people will see this genocide for what it is and put an end to it.
