After speaking with South Dakota Governor, Kristi Noem, President Donald Trump has confirmed that he will be added to Mt. Rushmore. President Trump will join former Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt on the monument, but there will be a noticeable difference with Trump. He will be the first President to have his entire torso, as well as his head, engraved into Mt. Rushmore.
When asked about the move, Governor Noem said, “It only makes sense to add the President who has done the most to help our country since President Reagan. I consider myself lucky to be able to make sure we honor President Donald Trump in the most proper way.”
President Trump was extraordinarily happy as well, saying, “I’m honored that your favorite President will forever be honored by being placed next to four of the greatest to have ever held the office of the Presidency. I hope that my work in my second term is even more successful than my first, and, believe me, I’ll make sure it happens.”
Construction on the Trump addition to Mt. Rushmore is due to start after Labor Day. Governor Noem hopes to have the addition completed before Thanksgiving.
