Lone Conservative in Israel 2020

Saturday, February 22, 2020

By Bailey Lynn and John Willow

This January, Lone Conservative contributors had the opportunity to visit Israel on a Christian students trip with Passages. Every participant had the opportunity to connect with their faith in the Holy Land surrounded by their friends. They danced on the Sea of Galilee where Jesus himself had walked. They did a walking tour on the Via  Dolorosa which Jesus walked before his crucifixion. They even stood atop Mount Precipice where Jesus was rejected by his own people.

Our students also emerged themselves in contemporary Israeli history and politics. The group visited Syrian military bases used in the Six-Day war. The students visited Bethlehem in the West Bank on the day Orthodox Christians celebrate Christmas. To see the conflict with their own eyes, the group went to the Gaza border where they saw remnants of rockets and bomb shelters.

Filled with the history of their faith, they returned home to share these stories.

We hope you enjoy the follow video which features just a few of the great memories our contributors will cherish for the rest of their lives.
