Liberal Vaccination Hypocrisy: What About The Border?

Tuesday, July 2, 2019

The Measles is making a comeback in the United States. The disease was previously declared eliminated nationwide in 2000 thanks to vaccinations and herd immunity. Now, there are upwards of 1000 cases with no end in sight.

Democrats have been some of the most outspoken advocates for tighter vaccination laws, mandating them in almost every case. Conservatives are more divided on the issue, debating its implications on individual rights, as well as the safety and testing of individual vaccinations.

The Democrats’ position on the issue has been extremely consistent in support of government-mandated vaccinations. For example, Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York recently signed a bill ending religious exemptions for vaccinations.

This would lead one to believe that requiring a fully vaccinated populace would be an extremely important issue for Democrats. Why, then, do they not seem to care when thousands of illegal immigrants pour into the country, without records of proper vaccination?

There have been multiple disease outbreaks in ICE detainment facilities so far this year. This requires detainees to be quarantined to prevent further spread. It endangers ICE agents, border patrol agents, and their families. It also presents a serious danger to the unvaccinated migrants themselves.

According to an ICE spokesperson, “A total of 2,287 detainees” were quarantined due to exposure to a contagion in March. Just last week, it was reported that 5,200 detainees were also quarantined for the same reason. An ICE official told CNN that there have been “recorded cases of either mumps or chicken pox in 39 immigrant detention centers nationwide.”

After these illegal immigrants are released to await court dates, they tend to disappear. It’s been reported by the acting Homeland Security Secretary that 90% of asylum seekers miss their court dates. This kind of destroys the argument that illegal immigrants want to follow the law.

For some reason, Democrats remain silent while hundreds of thousands of unvaccinated illegal immigrants flow into American communities. This begs the question: how much do they actually care about proper vaccination?

High profile Democrats like Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, and Stacey Abrams—just to name a few—have espoused beliefs in open borders. Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer have done so by regarding the border crisis as “manufactured” by the President. The others have opted to ignore the current problems at the border, and address healthcare, citizenship, and housing for those who’ve entered the country illegally. Ignoring the crisis and refusing to offer any kind of solution certainly portrays a complacency and acceptance of the current situation.

Many top Democrats have even publicly campaigned for the abolition of ICE, but ICE is the United States’ top defense against human traffickingespecially at the southern border.

Democrats are clearly more interested in ushering in a new voting block than protecting the citizens of this country. Their lack of concern about unvaccinated illegal immigrants infiltrating U.S. communities makes their true intentions glaringly obvious: get votes by any means necessary, even if it means putting Americans at risk.
