The Left’s Unhealthy Obsession with Abortion

Besides their hatred for rich people and white men, the left’s bigotry bus has just stopped to pick up another passenger: the unborn.  Last month, the New York state legislature and Governor Andrew Cuomo passed a bill, dubbed the Reproductive Health Act, which would allow women to get an abortion minutes before the baby is bornalso lifting the requirement for a doctor to do so. Then, a couple weeks later in Virginia, Delegate Kathy Tran proposed a bill that would allow women to get an abortion when the woman is, get this, dilating.

This is not healthcare. This is not “safe, legal, and rare” like the pro-choicers want you to believe. This is infanticide, and is wholly inhumane, murderous, and unpopular. Since the infamous Roe v. Wade decision in 1973, by an all-male Supreme Court, technological advancements in the medical field have reinforced the pro-life stance. While trying to champion “women’s rights” and “reproductive freedom,” the left is taking their beloved buzzwords too far, as both bills mentioned above are incredibly out of line with what most of Americans support, and what science says.

A whopping 75 percent of Americans say that abortion should be limited to the first 3 months of pregnancy, and another 65 percent would like Roe v. Wade to be revisited. Not only do most Americans not support the bills in New York and Virginia, the bills themselves fail to recognize the unborn as human beings, even though the science says otherwise. This is nothing new for the pro-life crowd. This is our bread and butter as we correctly recognize that unborn babies in the womb are human beings and should be treated under the law as such. The left’s inhumane and infanticidal stances on abortion are only getting worse. For a group of people that label themselves “progressive,” proposing bills that would legalize abortion minutes before a woman gives birth is entirely unprogressive.

Recently, the infanticide-supporting Governor of Virginia, Ralph Northam doubled down on the left’s radical positions, saying during a radio program, “If a mother is in labor…the infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and mother.” This is what the left represents now, and it should frighten all of us.

They are waging a full-fledged attack on the most vulnerable people among us. A group of human beings who are incapable of defending themselves are being violently ripped from limb to limb, all the way up to minutes before birth. It’s awfully rich to hear the left in an uproar over walls being “immoral” while most of their party supports abortion at all points during a pregnancy, and for a party to pride itself on being pro-science, their anti-science rhetoric regarding abortion is convenient.

While science regarding fetal life and technological advancements in the medical industry have hardened the pro-life stance, the left has become more radical. With leftism festering through the media, academia, and everyday life, it seems their once moderate stances are becoming radicalized overnight.

To the right’s credit, they have remained relatively consistent with their core values. What the left is doing with many issues, including abortion, is pushing a more radical stance, in hopes that the positions are seen as more “moderate” and easier to digest, while they claim people in the conservative and libertarian movements are “far right.” Their entire goal is to shift the political compass in their favor, painting us, and many others on the right as extremists to turn voters away.

This won’t work for abortion. Human beings are better than this. Anyone who has a sliver of compassion should be condemning their radical rhetoric and realize the true evils of the Democratic Party. They are genocidal maniacs who need stopped at all political costs.

The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only object of good government.”
