Announcing Two New Shows from Lone Conservative

Wednesday, May 10, 2017

Lone Conservative today is excited to announce a lineup of original media programming, accompanying the platform’s regular lineup of written commentary and first-person narratives of college bias.

The two shows, “The Campus Conservative” and “On the Line,” launch this week, as Lone Conservative prepares to celebrate its one-year anniversary.

“I created Lone Conservative to be an outlet for college students to share their opinions with each other, and others who are not informed about American campus culture,” said founder Kassy Dillon. “I am so excited that our contributors can now express their views through our new shows. Lone Conservative was built by college students and continues to grow due to the hard work of our contributors, and because of that, it has become bigger than I could have ever imagined.”

The Campus Conservative,” hosted by regular contributor Eric Shaffer, will feature interviews with authors and influencers in the young conservative movement, discussing issues of free speech and campus bias. The first episode, with special guest Summer Marie, covers the subject of preparing for college as a graduating conservative high school senior.

“This is such an amazing opportunity and I’m so excited to get started,” Shaffer said. “My generation needs to understand what conservatism actually means and why it is so essential to society. I can’t wait to help spread that message. The first episode proved very promising and I know this will be an amazing experience.”

On the Line” will be a live panel discussion show, with contributors Fritz Johnson, Kareem Mathias, Robert Sasso, Eric Shaffer, and Alec Sears. Airing on Thursday evening at 8:00 p.m. EST, the show will cover politics and current events as they affect modern conservative students. The show will feature a regular lineup of guests from the conservative movement, as well as newsmakers in their field.

The first episode of “The Campus Conservative” is available today on Apple Podcasts, Google Play, SoundCloud, and YouTube. “On the Line” will air on YouTube beginning Thursday, May 11.

Additionally, effective today, Lone Conservative is excited to announce that longtime contributor and editor Alec Sears will be taking over as Managing Editor, assisting Editor-in-Chief Elizabeth Desimone with content, while also taking on managerial duties of the organization.

“I’m very thankful to be a part of such an amazing team at Lone Conservative,” Sears said. “I am incredibly excited to carry on working with them as Managing Editor and I’m even more excited to show off the talent we have here every week on our new shows.”

“I am so happy to have Alec be a part of our management team,” Dillon added. “Alec has dedicated so much to us and has displayed his leadership qualities. He is the perfect example of a college student taking the initiative to fight back against the liberal monopoly on higher education.”

Lone Conservative is a home for conservative college students to tell their stories. Started in May 2016 by Kassy Dillon, the site has given nearly 100 authors the opportunity to voice opinions and share their experiences of bias and censorship on American college campuses.
